"My relationship with alcohol has never been one where I hit rock bottom or had a point where I simply had to give up. Mine, like many others, has been a journey of discovery and curiosity. I was very much a “grey area drinker” and only really decided I had a problem when I realised that I struggled to go a single day without a glass of wine. I would say that I was highly functioning but since getting curious about going alcohol free, I appreciate now that this was despite a major handicap, one which I wasn’t in control of – alcohol.
